Last year MCS sponsored an Auction to great success. The Maine Canoe Symposium's first auction was great fun and it helped generate funds to keep great programming coming to MCS in future years. Many top quality canoeing and camping items were auctioned off to the lucky winners. Items included hand made paddles, packs, poles, art prints and photographs, a wet suits, and assorted paddling gear. This year the auction will be expanded to include both a "Live Auction" as well as a "Silent Auction." With the generous donations of both our Pro Staff and many canoe and outdoor companies, we not only have a lot of great auction items, but plenty of great items for door prizes to be given away Sunday after lunch. When everyone turns in their evaluations, they get a chance at one of the many door prizes. We have been fortunate to receive many great donations from these fine companies, organizations and individuals: Alder Stream Canvas The Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association Che-Mun & the Hideaway Canoe Club Duluth Pack and Awning Company Grey Owl Paddles Maine Guides Jeff & Lisa Dehart Maine Guides Dave & Lynne Lewis Maine Guide John Meader Maine Path & Paddle Guide Service National Poling Champion Harry Rock Northwoods Canoe Company Old Town Canoe Company Scansport/Pakboats Shaw & Tenney Handcrafted Oars & Paddles Kevin Silliker
